Mission
To manage the diverse affairs of Government in the Parliament of Guyana by undertaking the administration, planning, coordination and monitoring of Government’s parliamentary business; responding actively and efficiently to Parliament matters on behalf of Government; and ensuring effective, accountable and transparent institutions; promoting responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels, coordinating the Constitutional and Electoral Reform processes, and, any other assignments by the President.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance is aims to manage the diverse affairs of Government in the Parliament of Guyana by undertaking the administration, planning, coordination and monitoring of Government’s parliamentary business; responding actively and efficiently to Parliament matters on behalf of Government; ensuring effective, accountable and transparent institutions; promoting responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels, coordinating the Constitutional and Electoral Reform processes, and, any other assignments conferred by the President.
Our Responsibilities
1. Management of Government’s legislative agenda
2. Management of Government’s business in the national assembly
3. Taking the lead on strategic governance matters including constitutional and electoral reform, and establishing a national stakeholders forum
4. Coordinating the monitoring, reporting and follow-up on Guyana’s Human Rights Treaty obligations
5. Monitoring, reporting and follow-up on Guyana’s anti-corruption treaty obligations

The Office of the Vice President has taken note of the Press Release issued by the Amerindian Peoples’ Association (APA) dated 15th April, 2023. This Release is regarding APA’s Complaint to the Architecture for REDD+ Transaction Secretariat (the certifying body for Guyana’s carbon programme), to suspend the issuance of carbon credits to Guyana and, therefore, future payments to Amerindian villages and local communities.
