Ms. Flores’ visit to Guyana to assess the state of affairs in areas which fall within her departments, and to inform policy and programme development in the regional office of the UN.
Yesterday, January 17, 2023, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Hon. Gail Teixeira M.P., met with Ms. Laura Flores, the Director of the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations from the Americas Division of the United Nations regional office in Panama.
Also Present at the meeting were UN Resident Coordinator in Guyana – Yesim Oruc; Ms Marrrrlene Smeets, UN; and Research Officer at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Anil Persaud.
The meeting was facilitated as part of Ms. Flores’ visit to Guyana to assess the state of affairs in areas which fall within her departments, and to inform policy and programme development in the regional office of the UN.
