MPAG met with Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities

This morning, Hon. Gail Teixeira and a team from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance met with representatives of the ‘Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities’ to discuss mutual areas of interest. This engagement is critical as Guyana prepares to submit State Party reports under then UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Further, Minister Teixeira has committed to establishing an iterative relationship with the council and other non-governmental organisations which play pivotal roles in advocacy for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.
