Minister Teixeira is currently performing the duties of the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and as such, is not seated in her usual seat with the Government Members of Parliament.
Minister of Public Service, Hon. Sonia Parag M.P., is currently acting as the Government Chief Whip in the National Assembly as Minister Teixeira continues to perform the duties of president until the return of H.E. President Irfaan Ali.
