Rights of Migrant Workers and their Families (CMW)
The National Mechanism for Reporting and Follow-up (NMRF) is hosting a training workshop on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Migrant Workers and their Families (CMW).
Guyana ratified this convention in 2010 and in keeping with Articles 154(a) and 39(2) of the Constitution of Guyana, upholds the fundamental rights of these persons inline with the convention and relavant domestic law.
This workshop is part of a series of training activities coordinated by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance in an effort to better sensitize agencies on the convention to improve implementation, reporting and follow-up.
Later today, the focus of the workshop will shift to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
